Menghidupi Belas Kasih dalam Semangat Vinsensian berdasarkan Pengalaman Vinsensius Menjadi Pastor di Chatillon les Dombes
Abstract
Compassion will remain barren if it grows within oneself. In addition, if compassion is focused on oneself, it results in less health and seems less than optimal for a shepherd. Precisely based on his pastoral experience at Chatillon les Dombes, Vincent wanted to change the life of a human being who tended to be ego-centric to Christ-centric. That is, Christ becomes the center of life and the source of compassion that moves people outside of themselves and begins to act and help others. Chatillon's story actually wants to break the falsehood of human life who seems to want to fortify themselves with a sense of comfort, laziness, unwillingness to share and fall into severe self-egoism. Vincent made a great contribution to the progress of the Church's mission because he was able to mobilize the laity, God's people, especially women, to be actively involved and participate in realizing God's mission. Instead of turning inward, compassion must grow outwards; reach out to a wider range of souls and give greater energy by serving others. Vincent's greatest contribution was to make others have compassion and for them to dare to inspire that compassion in others and show them the way.
