Liyan sebagai Wajah Kemiskinan: Telaah Pemikiran Armada Riyanto tentang Subjek Marginal
Abstract
The focus of this research is on exploring the concept of others as the face of poverty, as presented in Armada Riyanto's thinking. KBBI defines poverty as a situation in which people are propertyless, lacking in everything, or have very low incomes. They can only meet the minimum needs to maintain life. According to Armada, poverty can be seen in the faces of those who are marginalized, excluded, silenced, and become victims of injustice. Armada calls them others or other individuals because they are marginalized in community life. Therefore, exploring the concept of others as the face of poverty in Armada Riyanto's thinking will reveal social and ethical values such as equality and dignity of others, social justice, and solidarity towards others. The method used in the research is a qualitative method through a literature study of Armada Riyanto's literature on others, and also on poverty in Indonesia. This study found that others are a critique of a society that normalizes injustice. Therefore, the existence of others must be considered, acknowledged, and protected so that justice can be created in the order of community life.
