Pendidikan Calon Imam: Tanggapan Vinsensius atas Kemerosotan Kualitas Para Imam
Abstract
This study discusses the importance of training prospective priests through seminaries to overcome the decline in the quality of priests, which has a negative impact on the faith of the people and the image of the church. The introduction explains that the decline in the quality of priests, reflected in several cases of irregularities, has prompted efforts to improve the comprehensive education of priests. This research uses a qualitative method that is a literature study by analyzing the role of seminaries in the education of prospective priests. The results show that mature priests in five dimensions can be produced through good seminary formation. The dimensions are human, intellectual, spiritual, community, and pastoral. In addition, Vincentian formation focuses on the five Vincentian virtues: humility, gentleness, mortification, simplicity, and saving souls. In conclusion, through this approach, the seminary can produce priests with integrity and commitment to serve the people, strengthen faith, and uphold Christian values in daily life.
