St. Vinsensius a Paulo sebagai “Politikus Handal” di Perancis: Tinjauan Teologi Kontekstual Bagi Politik Indonesia
Abstract
Politics in 17th century France dan Indonesia are similar in terms of political crises dan people's suffering. France, led by Prime Minister Mazarin, made a policy of raising taxes to finance overseas expansion. Meanwhile in Indonesia, the Dutch government controlled the politics of the Mataram Kingdom so that local policies were determined by the Dutch government. As a result, the people suffered from the pressure exerted in the social dan economic fields. Both concluded that the politicians of a country or kingdom are very influential for the justice dan welfare of the people. Political figures must be able to observe the reality of society so that the results of their observations are conveyed to the leaders of the state or kingdom to determine policies that are in accordance with the needs of the people. The expected communication from politicians or board members is communication that is solutive dan beneficial for the good of the people. So the author uses qualitative-descriptive methods from primary dan secondary sources. Primary sources come from the history of Vincent especially in the 17th century. Secondary sources come from Church documents related to socio-political issues.
